Reprise – Tales from the (Movie) Theater: Outro

As well, access to other portions of the theater’s roof framework were available via adjoined ladders at various points along the top of the building — including the central section over the audience hall and all the way back to high point of the rear structure. You can see the lone, naked ladder in the photo that climbs up to that highpoint location, here. It provided one of the highest viewing whereabouts in the city of Huntington Park.

TMT: On Our Way to Were

This is the next entry in a Theatre… a Movie… and a Time, a series that was begun here. I’ve said it before, timing is everything. And Kelle Pratt, she of the Outspoken & Freckled blog and various, wonderful blogathons, recently batted clean-up with one film for another. Ratnakar Sadasyula, an equally marvelous and generous movie blogger, not long ago completed his Sydney Pollack Blogathon over at Seetimar-Diary of a Movie Lover. This film, in a nice touch, brought the curtain down for the online event, and stirred a memory in the process.

It was at this particular theater that my love of the movies was permanently set in stone. Not only was it the closest of the art deco movie palaces in the vicinity, and the location for many of the dates in my youth, but I would later return to this same theater as an employee. I would do a stint as a projectionist during my concluding days of college.
