On the Lookout for Books and Movies Poll 2016
As put forward last month, having just completed another parallel post season with my partner Rachel, the blogger otherwise known as the Scientist Gone Wordy, we’re going back to the notion we did last year. In the past, around this time of year, she and I would begin to select five titles a piece for the year to come. Now we know better. Thought we’d perform a test of change and open it up.
We solicited for possible ideas by our readers. Something we wouldn’t necessarily pick ourselves. The titles offered in the comments by said on our blogs and/or Facebook pages are below. There’s only one problem: each represents only one vote in favor. Therefore, we’ll open this up for some voting by the rest of you, just like last year. From now to the end of the annum, pick what you’d like to see the “wordy one” and I take on.
More than one, if you’d like.
At the start of January, we’ll announce the top pair with the most nods and give credit to their backers. They’ll join the eight picks we’ll come up with for the 2016 run of book and movie reviews. We’re beholden to those who’ve read our reviews over the past six years and hope this pays some of that back. Feel free to vote for your favorites. With many thanks.

In the other box I suggested The Shrinking Man by Richard Matheson, don’t know if that shows up though. Still, the option was offered. 🙂

Yeah, that’s a good one, Colin. Would love to take a look at this title. Been seconded by Lee, too. Thank you so much. 🙂

Still leading the pack the last time I looked. Thanks, Alex. 🙂

I like Strangers on a Train as well, but taking a cue from Colin Shrinking Man would be a cool one as would Invasion of the Body Snatchers–a lot of interpretations of that one.

It’s a great title, and Richard Matheson a favorie mine, too. Maybe not Rachel’s, though. Oh, and another great one with ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’. Always wanted to read ‘The Body Snatchers’ by Jack Finney. Hopefully someday we’ll get to do just that. Thanks, Lee. 🙂

I voted for two from the ones I’ve seen Michael! What a great list btw, can’t wait to see which ones you end up doing.

Some great choices here, Michael!
‘Strangers On A Train’ works only with the skill, humor and hands of a Hitchcock at the Tiller. Though, Christopher Nolan might be a decent choice to handle it. With ‘Memento’ and ‘Inception’ already under his belt!
Also like the ‘Mr. Ripley’ trilogy. Started off with Matt damon. And ending up with John Malckolvich. Also, Kudos for ‘A Midnight Clear’.
I ‘ll add Joe Haldeman’s ‘The Forever war’. And Tim O’Brien’s ‘Going After Cacciato’ as personal favorites!

Those are some awesome suggestions, Kevin. And ‘A Midnight Clear’ has made a big jump of late, too. Thank you very much, my friend. 🙂
