Wonderful compilation of TV songs by my colleague Pop Culture Nerd. As she asked,
“What would be some of your favorite TV theme songs?”

I need to listen to that as I haven’t seen that show. Thanks, Julian.

The ‘Friends’ theme song. I love it, but mostly from nostalgia and what that series means to me. The song itself is pretty bad.

Hi, Michael and Pop Culture Nerd:
Intriguing question. How far back can I go?
Always liked the Henry Mancini intro to ‘Peter Gunn’.
The rapid fire theme to ‘F-Troop’ was a kick.
‘S.W.A.T.’ is a standard. Used by a local DJ for years around DC to introduce his numerous ‘Lawman’ skits.
Still think Mike Post’s bittersweet theme to ‘Hill Street Blues’ holds up well.
As does the funky four piece night club theme to ABC’s ‘Barney Miller’ from back in the 1970s.

Great list, Kevin. Oooh, Peter Gunn. Love that by Mancini. Hill Street Blues and Barney Miller, as well. Thanks, my friend.

That is a very respectable list from John. To that SoundEagle would like to add the following:
Logan’s Run
Space 1999 (second version)
The Greatest American Hero
Simon & Simon
Shaft
The Rockford Files
Little Hobo
Dr Who
Moonlighting
Little House on the Prairie
Charlie’s Angels

I recognize most of these, and wonderful examples of the theme music of the time. I’m drawing a blank on Little Hobo, though. I need to see if YouTube has it to acquaint myself. Thank you very much, SE. 🙂

As far as SoundEagle could remember, Little Hobo (about a small terrier) is a black-and-white TV series (in the 1950s?).
