What an interesting post, Michael! Thorn Birds was released 35 yrs ago?? I remember watching the miniseries, my mom loved those despite being a devout Catholic, ahah. Oh I still haven’t seen MacArthur yet, I remember Gregory telling a funny story about buying a house whilst still dressed/made up as the general, ahah. He said he was very assertive that day as he was still in character 🙂

Yeah, it’s hard to believe it was 35 years ago. You should check out ‘MacArthur’. While it’s not his greatest film, Gregory Peck brought his usual gravitas and accomplished talent to the bio (one that Universal hoped would be ‘Patton’-like). It wasn’t, but Peck remains the chief reason for seeing it. Thanks, Ruth.
